World class interiors. built here.

From design concept to final installation, entirely in East Africa.

There is a persistent assumption that world-class interiors in East Africa must come from outside the region. We exist to change that.

Kisasa Designs brings together what few partners can offer under one roof: the design intelligence of a studio, the production capability of an in-house manufacturer, and the project management discipline to take an interior from concept to completion without losing control of quality, timeline, or intent.

We work across the full scope — design, fabrication, site coordination, and final installation — and we remain accountable for all of it.

For clients building or refurbishing in East Africa, that accountability is not a small thing. The region has its own climate, its own supply chains, and its own logistical realities. We have built our practice around understanding all of them.

One partner. Full accountability.

The full journey

For clients who need one partner responsible for everything. We take a project from first concept through to final installation — designing, fabricating, and delivering with the same standard of craft and communication at every stage. You always know where the project stands and what comes next.

Build-only partner

For clients who arrive with an existing design vision. We execute it with technical precision, local expertise, and professional accountability, honouring the intent of the brief and delivering it to the standard it deserves — without substitution, shortcuts, or compromise.

Custom contract

For hospitality groups and developers who need consistency at scale without sacrificing quality. We produce furniture and interiors across multiple units with the consistency of a manufacturer and the attention of a studio — on time, exactly as designed, and built to last.

The work

The capability behind the craft.

Most interior projects in East Africa fail at the same point — the gap between what was designed and what gets built. That gap exists because design and production are handled by different parties, with different standards, across different supply chains.

Kisasa closes that gap entirely.

Our in-house workshop gives us something most design studios don't have: direct control over what gets made. Furniture, joinery, upholstery, and custom built elements are produced by our own team, to our own standards, without being handed off to a third party where quality and timeline become someone else's problem.

That production capability is backed by deep knowledge of East African materials, suppliers, and site conditions. We know what holds up in this climate, what sources reliably, and what needs to be built differently here than it would be elsewhere. That knowledge is not transferable — it is built over years of working in this specific context.

The result is an interior practice that can design it, build it, and deliver it. Fully accountable at every stage.

“Working with Kisasa Designs for the second time — their ability to translate a concept into a fully realised environment is remarkable.”
